Yasmine Makridis is an experienced litigator whose career spans federal prosecution, complex litigation, and specialized work in domestic violence and human trafficking–related offenses. With over a decade of legal experience at every stage of the criminal justice system, Yasmine brings deep insight, strategic precision, and a strong commitment to every case she handles.

Yasmine most recently served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division for the Northern District of Ohio, where she investigated and prosecuted a full range of federal crimes, including fraud and other white-collar matters, drug trafficking, firearms offenses, and offenses against children. In this role, she represented the United States in all phases of litigation and drafted appellate briefs in high-stakes federal cases. Her work provided her with a comprehensive understanding of federal investigative practices, prosecutorial strategies, and courtroom procedures.

Before her federal service, Yasmine served in multiple positions with the Columbus City Attorney’s Office, including as an Assistant City Attorney in the Domestic Violence Unit. She prosecuted offenses of violence involving family or household members, trained law enforcement on best practices for responding to domestic violence incidents and worked closely with victims and community partners. She also prosecuted a wide range of criminal and traffic cases and represented the State of Ohio in over 70 jury and bench trials.

Yasmine’s background also includes extensive legal experience through her work as a law clerk in the City of Columbus Appellate Unit and as a legal intern for the Tenth District Court of Appeals. She contributed to statewide policy and research efforts during her time with the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Domestic Violence Unit. Her early legal career included roles with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, where she assisted with crime-victim-related appeals and legislative research.
