Shane, a former JAG officer, is an Associate Attorney in the Columbus Office. He focuses his practice on high-stakes, complex criminal and civil matters. A former JAG, Shane also maintains a practice defending service members nationwide in courts-martial and military justice proceedings.
Before joining Flannery | Georgalis, Shane worked as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army JAG Corps. While there, he spent seven years as a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney, gaining substantial trial experience. He was also hand-selected to head the Office of the Special Trial Counsel at Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he prosecuted high-profile, complex cases. Throughout his career, Shane has sat first chair in hundreds of court proceedings and trials, including cases involving rape, assault, drug trafficking, and other serious felony offenses. His extensive experience has allowed him to build strong, lasting relationships with law enforcement, the United States Attorney’s Offices, and Attorneys General nationwide.
While in law school, Shane served on the Ohio State Alternative Dispute Resolution Journal, was a member of the Moot Court Team, and externed at the Supreme Court of Ohio for Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor. Prior to law school, Shane served his community as a Soldier in the Army Reserve and as a career counselor for a local non-profit.
