Location: Cleveland

Scott is an Associate Attorney in the Cleveland Office. Prior to joining Flannery | Georgalis, Scott worked for a national firm in New York City, defending a variety of licensed professionals against malpractice claims. He honed his legal research and writing skills by drafting numerous pre-trial motions.

Scott obtained significant experience in criminal investigations and prosecutions as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. He partnered with state and federal law enforcement officials on long-term investigations of criminal organizations involved in narcotics trafficking, firearms trafficking, schemes to defraud, and acts of violence including robberies and non-fatal shootings. These investigations involved the use of court-authorized eavesdropping, undercover law enforcement personnel, confidential informants, subpoenas, and search warrants into physical locations and electronic devices. Scott simultaneously maintained an active caseload of violent, narcotics-related, and white-collar felony offenses where he developed courtroom skills through directing and cross-examining witnesses during hearings and grand jury presentations.

Scott attended Notre Dame Law School, where he graduated cum laude. During law school, Scott was a law clerk in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio. This role provided him the opportunity to draft appellate briefs, habeas briefs, responses to pre-trial motions, and sentencing memoranda.
