Heather Kenney is an accomplished attorney with over 25 years of experience in federal court, government service, and private practice. She acts as U.S. Counsel for Flannery | Georgalis and is leading the Firm’s expansion into Europe from Ireland, where she regularly advises Irish and EU-based clients on complex criminal, regulatory, and civil litigation matters in the United States. Having served more than two decades as a career law clerk to three federal court judges in New York and Florida, Heather brings exceptional insight into judicial decision-making, complex litigation strategy, and appellate practice.

Heather began her legal career as a New York City prosecutor, securing grand jury indictments, assisting in the prosecution of major felonies, and successfully arguing to uphold convictions in appellate courts. She then worked at a boutique litigation firm in upstate New York, where she represented hospitals, universities, and corporate clients on a broad range of issues in state and federal courts.

Her experience litigating both criminal and civil cases prepared Heather for her subsequent federal clerkships, where she worked on a wide range of high-stakes matters involving commercial disputes, regulatory issues, cross-border litigation, constitutional questions, and complex procedural issues. As a seasoned federal law clerk, Heather assisted the court in analyzing dispositive motions, preparing opinions, and managing sophisticated litigation involving multinational companies, financial institutions, and government entities.

Drawing on this extensive experience inside the federal judiciary, Heather is well-equipped to advise clients on litigation strategy, motion practice, and appellate issues, with particular insight into matters before the U.S. federal courts. Clients benefit from Heather’s deep understanding of how courts evaluate legal arguments, evidentiary issues, and case strategy.
