Ellen is a highly accomplished Senior Associate Attorney in the Cleveland office, with extensive experience in federal prosecution, complex litigation, and military law. She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and originally joined Flannery | Georgalis in 2019 as a 3L intern.
After law school, Ellen was selected for the Attorney General’s Honors Program, serving as a law clerk at Conroe Immigration Court in Texas. In this role, she gained hands-on experience in federal immigration law and courtroom procedures, building the foundation for her litigation career. She went on to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Texas, prosecuting hundreds of cases and representing the United States in over a dozen federal trials. Her prosecutions spanned a wide range of matters, including international firearm smuggling, tax fraud, public corruption, immigration offenses, human and drug trafficking, and interstate violent crimes.
Ellen is also a Captain in the United States Army Reserve Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. Prior to joining Flannery | Georgalis, she worked in the Army’s litigation division, defending the Army in high-stakes federal civil litigation involving constitutional challenges to Army policies, military pay act cases, habeas petitions, and cases arising under the Tucker Act.
Outside of work, Ellen enjoys spending time with her two rescue dogs and can regularly be found outside climbing mountains, hiking the 50 highest peaks, or running half marathons.
