Kelsey Baughman

Kelsey is an Associate Attorney based in the Cleveland office. She earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Cleveland State University College of Law. During law school, she served as Managing Editor of Cleveland State Law Review, worked as a Research Assistant to a legal writing professor, and was named to the Dean’s list every semester.

Kelsey’s legal career is marked by impressive achievements, including her successful representation of a federal firearms licensee in a contested revocation hearing, effectively resolving the client’s Notice of Revocation from the ATF. Her trial experience extends to federal court, where she skillfully handled a case involving charges of a felon in possession of a firearm. Kelsey’s advocacy skills proved instrumental in persuading the Department of Justice Tax Division and the IRS that the client was a victim, not a subject or target, in an illegal charitable contribution tax scheme. Furthermore, Kelsey has also demonstrated her effectiveness in mediation, particularly in civil employment matters related to restrictive covenants.

Prior to pursuing her legal career, Kelsey gained valuable experience in the insurance industry, providing her with a unique perspective on related legal matters. She also worked as a law clerk for a sophisticated personal injury law firm, where she honed her skills in brief writing and motion practice.

Kelsey also has a strong commitment to professional development and leadership, which led her to graduate from the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) Ladder Down Cleveland Class of 2023, a prestigious program for women lawyers that focuses on mentoring, leadership, and business development.
